Keeping it rolling
Love’s return has injected life into the Cavaliers, as they have topped Milwaukee and Toronto – two playoff-bound teams – with 256 combined points of offense. With less than three weeks remaining in the regular season, interim head coach Larry Drew and company have officially clinched a spot in the postseason.
James is enjoying one of the best stretches of his career, becoming the only player to record 17 assists without a turnover in NBA history on Wednesday. He now leads the league in playing time (2,638 minutes), and nears the top of the leaderboard in points (second with 1,945) and assists (second with 648).
Jeff Green is in the same boat, notching 11-or-more points in each of his last five contests, all of which were starts. His willingness to draw contact has yielded 29 trips to the charity stripe over his last eight appearances, with 24 of those attempts falling through the net.
Depth has been key, as nine different players have scored in double-figures during the three-game winning streak.
