Ohio State Football Release: Nonconference Schedules Complete Through 2028

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The non-conference schedules for the Ohio State football team are now set through the 2028 season with the announcement today from the Department of Athletics of two additional agreements in place for home games at Ohio Stadium:

  • Ohio State and New Hampshire will play Sept. 11, 2027; and
  • Ohio State and Northern Illinois will play Sept. 16, 2028.

Ohio State and New Hampshire, the alma mater of head coach Ryan Day, will meet on the gridiron for the first time. The game against Northern Illinois will be the third between the two schools with Ohio State winning prior games in 2006 (35-12) and 2015 (20-13).

Ohio State’s upcoming nonconference schedules include home-and-home arrangements with Texas in 2025-26 and Alabama in 2027-28.

Sept. 13 – Ohio

2026 Schedule

Sept. 19 – Kent State

 

2027 Schedule

Sept. 4 – Bowling Green

Sept. 11 – New Hampshire

Sept. 18 – Alabama

2028 Schedule

Sept. 2 – Buffalo

Sept. 9 – at Alabama

Sept. 16 – Northern Illinois

Oct. 7 – Maryland/Homecoming (12 noon; FOX)
