Isaiah Washington’s 41 Points Lift East Tech to Senate League Championship

The East Tech Golden Scarabs are Senate League champions after a 71-66 win over Glenville, as Isaiah Washington scored 41 points to hand the Tarblooders their only conference loss of the season.

East Tech jumped out to a 10-1 lead out of the gate, but Glenville battled back to tie the game at 12 heading into the second quarter.

It was a back and forth battle the rest of the way. Glenville, led by 11 blocked shots from 6-foot-9 senior Phillip Lundy, led 57-55 with 3:43 left in the fourth quarter.

Washington and company finished strong for East Tech, forcing turnovers and finishing out the game on a 16-9 run.

East Tech wins its fourth-straight conference title, improving to 14-5 (11-2 Senate League) on the season.

It was the fourth-straight time these two teams have met in the Senate League Championship and East Tech has come out on the right end each time.

Glenville falls to 16-4 and loses its first conference game after winning the previous 12.
