Cornell Beard With 4 Touchdowns as Shaker Defeats Brunswick 39-34 To Stay Undefeated at 6-0

Cornell Beard scored four touchdowns to lead Shaker to a 39-34 victory over Brunswick.

Leading Brunswick in this contest was junior quarterback Ethan Roksandich who had all five touchdowns on the night for the Blue Devils.

With the victory, Shaker remains undefeated at 6-0 on the season.

Shaker scored early in the first quarter on Cornell Beard’s 4-yard touchdown run.  

Brunswick then took a 7-6 lead on Roksandich’s touchdown with 5:51 left in the first quarter.

Shaker regained the lead early in the second quarter on a 54- yard touchdown run by quarterback Abdullah Ahmad.

Shortly thereafter, Brunswick scored a touchdown to make the score 14-12.

Less than a minute later, Shaker scored on junior Trey McNutt’s 62-yard touchdown catch to make the score 19-14.

Brunswick then scored a touchdown with 3:25 left in the first half to take a 21-19 lead.

Cornell Beard scored his second touchdown of the night at the end of the first half to put Shaker ahead 26-21 heading into halftime.

Early in the third quarter Brunswick regained the lead 28-26 on a touchdown.

With 5:55 left in the third quarter Cornell Beard scored his third touchdown of the night to give Shaker a 33-28 lead.

Brunswick took a 34-33 lead with 8:41 left in the game.

Shaker then made the final score 39-34 on Cornell Beard’s 15-yard touchdown run with 6:54 left in the game.

With the victory, Shaker stays undefeated at 6-0 as they get ready to face Mentor in a week seven matchup.

Brunswick will play Euclid next Friday night.
