5 Buckeyes Selected in First Round of 2016 NFL Draft; One Shy of Record

The Ohio State University football program was well-represented on Thursday night in Chicago, as five Buckeyes were selected in the first round of the NFL Draft.

OSU was just one player shy of tying the record for most first-round picks selected from a school in the same draft, which is held by the 2004 Miami Hurricanes, who had six players selected 12 years ago.

Here are the Buckeyes who learned their NFL fates on Thursday night:

#3 San Diego Chargers- Joey Bosa DE

#4 Dallas Cowboys- Ezekiel Elliott RB

#10 New York Giants- Eli Apple CB

#16 Detroit Lions- Taylor Decker OT

#20 New York Jets- Darron Lee LB

Browns fans may be disappointed that they did not get Bosa or Elliott, but there are still two more days and six more rounds to go, and plenty of Buckeyes still available.
