CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland Indians are 62-47 and 2 games up in the division over Detroit. It is their best record at this point in the season since 2007 and have a great starting rotation. So why is everyone panicking?
For good reason actually!
Since a 14 game winning streak to cap off an incredible month of June, the Indians have been struggling greatly in every facet of the game. They look like they have stopped having fun and are no longer playing loose.
They have gone 13-17 and have looked very shaky. Since Gomes went down to injury the starting rotation has looked completely lost and in desperate search of answers.
Maybe this was just a bad week, or maybe the loss of Gomes behind the plate calling games was bigger then everyone first thought.
The Indians can’t afford to panic however as the schedule will not be doing them any favors, starting this week with two on the road against the Nationals in Washington.
Not sure if Tito needs to call a meeting, or they just need to get their confidence back, but the Tigers are on the prowl and the Tribe needs to recover fast and get back on the war path.
