Midview QB Andrew Gooch Wins Jenny’s Old Fashioned Popcorn Player Of The Week

In a vote that came down to the wire, Midview QB Andrew Gooch pulled off the narrow win over North Ridgeville QB Matthew Steinmetz. It was a rematch of sorts from there thriller this past Friday Night that saw Ridgeville pull off the 31-30 win.

Despite the loss, Gooch had a remarkable performance that saw him throw for 348 yards and two touchdowns. His big arm and leadership abilities resemble those of Midview legend Dustin Crum.

Gooch had this to say about what made his great performance possible, “I want to thank my receivers, my line, and my coaches for making this possible, I truly believe we have some of the best receivers and one of the best coaching staffs around. I couldn’t have done it without them.”

Gooch will be instrumental in getting the Middies’ season turned out as they are off to a rough 0-2 start.

They will get another chance to get on the winning side of the ledger as the travel to North Olmsted to take on the Eagles. Gooch is confident they will get it turned around starting with the Eagles.

“One thing that will motivate me going into next week is that I know that no matter what happens my team will stick together and have each other’s back, that’s why I love this team.”
