We’ll cover the eastern and western ends of the state this week. For those of you who live out east, a trip to Sharon Speedway to see the 9th Annual Lou Blaney Memorial will be worth the trip. Featuring the All Star Circuit of Champions, the race pays tribute to long time racer Lou Blaney. Blaney won more than 600 feature events over a 5-decade career. Lou is also the father of Dave and Dale Blaney and grandfather to NASCAR star Ryan Blaney. Lou Blaney passed away following a battle with Alzheimer’s in 2009. Among the previous winners of the Lou Blaney Memorial include Tony Stewart in the inaugural event in 2009, Lou’s son Dave Blaney in 2014 and Sheldon Haudenschild in 2015. If you live on the western side of the state, Waynesfield Raceway Park should produce a fun show. The Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) will be racing for a $1500 prize.
The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series will return to Ohio next week with the running of the Ohio Logistics Brady Doty Classic presented by Racing Optics. We’ll have more on this huge event leading into the race on Tuesday.
