Travis Davis vs Jesse Murray Fight Preview For March 3rd Showdown

MMA

Fight preview – Travis Davis (5-1) vs Jesse Murray (5-2)
Date – March 3
Venue – Arnold Classic
Division – Middleweight

As the card for Alliance MMA Iron Tiger 80 stacks up, a lot of eyes are already on a matchup between two of the best middleweights in Ohio. In fact, they are the very best! It will be Travis “Bam Bam” Davis vs Jesse Murray in a matchup that few will be able to turn their heads away from despite the brutality that is coming from this epic clash.

Davis (a former Marine) started his professional career on a roll with four straight first round submissions before a stunning 6 second KO loss to Sid Wheeler. Davis didn’t stay down long however and bounced back brilliantly this past December at Iron Tiger 79 with a devastating first round submission over Alan Stewart.

Travis Davis walks around at 205, and cuts down to 185 to compete in the division. He is the proto typical Middleweight, long and strong! He fights out of Ronin Training Club and believes that his well-rounded skill set makes him a very dangerous man.

Davis admitted that he needs to use his knee’s more often in his stand-up game, something he works diligently on during his 20 plus hours of training each week. Davis spent four years in the Marines and started training there.
When I asked Davis what challenges he has set for himself in the world of MMA, he had this to say, “ I used to want to go undefeated, but that is now out of the window. I’d like to make it to the highest level of fighting in the world and make a new goal from there.”

His opponent Jesse Murray is not to be taken lightly by any means. He has earned every one of those 5 wins coming into this one. Murray is also from Ohio and has a 9 second KO victory over Chad Herrick to his credit. He also posted a brutal first round submission victory over Eddie Larrea as well. Four of his Five wins have come by submission or KO.

Murray is coming off a loss however, and it will be interesting to see how he responds. His last effort met with defeat as he failed in his attempt to unseat KOTC Light Heavyweight Champion and former Bellator Competitor Jason Butcher back in October. A fight Murray lost by knockout.

Both of these guys are very good, both of them are well deserved of their high rankings and will be sure to bring it come March 3rd!
