PREVIEW: Cavs take on Portland for Isaiah Thomas’ return

2. Don’t make them heroes on the perimeter

The Blazers are hardly one of the best 3-point shooting teams in the league. They are 22nd when it comes to 3s made (9.2) but 10th when it comes to percentage (.370).

The Cavs can’t allow them to get comfortable by knocking down uncontested shots and need to be strong in their perimeter one-on-one defense, even if they don’t perceive Portland as one of the best 3-point teams.

And if Damian Lillard plays, (which he told Fox Sports Northwest he intends to) he will be more than capable of finding his open teammates.
