Weather Takes Saturday Schedule

Rain showers that passed through Ohio Friday night into Saturday forced track promoters to cancel shows across the state on Saturday. Rain Friday night also forced the cancellation of shows at Attica, Limaland and Moler Raceway Park.

According to a release on the Attica Raceway Park Facebook page, fans that entered Friday can use their ticket for any event throughout the 2017 season.

Friday Winners

Skyline Speedway (Stewart, OH) and Legendary Hilltop (Marietta, OH) both completed their respective shows Friday night. Winners at Skyline included Jeremy Berwanger in Late Models, Travis Dickson in Modifieds, James Dennis in Sport Mods and Josh Ayers in 4-Cylinders. At Legendary Hilltop, Freddie Carpenter won the Late Model feature, Tyler Evans in the Modifieds, Dwight Henry captured the Sport Mods feature, Kyle Moore in Street Stocks and Kyle Moyer in the 4-Cylinder class.

Ohio Boys In Richmond

Buckeye State natives Matt Tifft and Matt Mills ran Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Richmond International Raceway. Tifft is a native of Hinckley and runs full time in the NXS for Joe Gibbs Racing. Tifft finished 14th Saturday. Mills, originally from New Philadelphia made his second NXS start of the season and finished 31st.

Last To First For Logano

Joey Logano made his 300th career Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series start Sunday at Richmond. A transmission change after qualifying forced Logano to start in the back. Logano would make his way to the front, winning his 18th career race.

INDY At Phoenix

Simon Pagenaud earned his 10th career Verizon IndyCar Series win Saturday night at Phoenix Raceway. The win, the first on an oval for Pagenaud puts him atop the Verizon IndyCar Series points.

Stewart And Schrader To Compete In “Little 500”

Despite their lengthy resumes, Tony Stewart and Ken Schrader will compete later this month in the Pay Less Little 500 as rookies. Stewart had previously announced his entry into the 69th annual event while the Anderson Speedway President said in a press conference for the event last week that Schrader would also be entering. The 69th annual Pay Less Little 500 at the ¼ mile asphalt oval will be held on May 27th.
