4. The Rock vs ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin – WrestleMania X-Seven
These two icons fought three times at Mania, and out of the three I don’t think there’s any doubt this was by far the best. They went at it in a blood bath for over 28 minutes, and while the heel turn of Austin was not met well by the fans, these two were by far and away the biggest two stars in Mania history, and they took the main event to a new level, with incredible kick outs and false finishes. It ended an era in which The Rock was a WWE mainstay, and Austin eventually went back to being a face by the end of the year after the heel turn flopped.
