Mahal Wins the Strap, Nakamura’s Debut – Five Takeaways from Sunday’s WWE Backlash

2. Nakamura Officially Makes His In-Ring Arrival

It wasn’t a five-star match, but Shinsuke Nakamura’s long awaited ‘main roster’ debut took place to open the card in Chicago with a solid win over Dolph Ziggler.

To say that Ziggler is a perfect opening opponent for Shinsuke is an understatement, as he took all of the top spots from Nakamura including his finish after a long match for the pinfall.

As expected, there was a ton of false finishes on both sides, and we will see quickly if there’s going to be more between these two or if they quickly move on to a different opponent for Nakamura.

They could easily continue this feud but now the ball is in Ziggler’s court to go back on the offensive and look more like a worthy opponent for the international star.
