10 Things You Probably Never Knew About WrestleMania III

5. The Cart to the Ring

With 12 matches on the card, getting WrestleMania III wrapped up in about three hours was going to be tough, and one of the things that was a challenge was how to get the wrestlers back and forth to the ring.

With a LONG walk to the ring, the WWF officials at the time decided to use a scissor cart made to look like a small wrestling ring to carry the wrestlers back and forth to the ring, cutting down on their time and making sure the competitors wouldn’t take too long and get caught up in the moment.

The only two wrestlers not to use the cart on their way to the ring were Roddy Piper (who stated the cart wouldn’t start so he just ran out instead of waiting), and Hulk Hogan, which was the plan all along for him to take the long walk to the ring.

The only other time the company has used such a device was three years later in Toronto in WrestleMania VI.
