10. The Memorable Version of ‘America the Beautiful’ by Aretha Franklin Almost Didn’t Happen

As legend goes, legendary R&B singer Aretha Franklin was one of the many that decided to wait it out before heading to the Silverdome, and she almost paid for it, as she didn’t arrive at the venue till it was just about bell time and time for her to start the event with an excellent piano version of ‘America the Beautiful.’

She wasn’t the only one that had major issues getting to the Silverdome, as there are stories of many wrestlers having problems getting to the event due to the massive crowd coming to Pontiac, but thankfully all of them made it on time – including Franklin.
