Zach Werenski Out For Rest Of Postseason With Facial Fracture

Most people would think things couldn’t get any worse for the Columbus Blue Jackets after going down 3-0 in the series against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Well, it has.

Rookie defenseman Zach Werenski has been ruled out for the rest of the postseason, announced by Head Coach John Tortorella today. Werenski was hit in the face by a puck in the second period on an eventual Penguins scoring play.

Werenski would come back into the game in the third but leave the game due to his eye swelling shut.

After the game, Werenski took a picture from the hospital.

For the Blue Jackets, it’s on to Game 4 at Nationwide Arena.
