Zaar’s Pair Of Goals Leads The Monsters To A 4-1 Victory Over Milwaukee

CLEVELAND, Ohio- The Cleveland Monsters were back at home on Friday after a quick visit to Grand Rapids, as they tried to win their second game in a row when they took on the Milwaukee Admirals. The Admirals had defeated the Monsters in both meetings between the teams this season.

The Monsters would start off strong, as Daniel Zaar would score at the 4:56 mark of the period to give the Monsters a 1-0 lead. Zaar would strike again at the 18:22 mark of the period, as the Monsters would capitalize on a power play opportunity that came off of a Miikka Salomaki cross-checking penalty. Cleveland would head into intermission with a 2-0 lead.

Jaime Sifers would be the lone goal scored in the second period, as he scored at the 13:39 mark of the period. The middle frame essentially became a sin bin party, as seven penalties were called during the second period.

In the third period, Adam Payerl scored to break up the shutout bid for Joonas Korpisalo at the 12:16 mark. That goal would not spark a comeback, as the Monsters would take advantage of an empty-net with an Oliver Bjorkstrand goal at the 17:50 mark of the period. Cleveland would win the game by a score of 4-1, as they improved to 8-10-1-1 on the year.
