WRESTLEMANIA XII Shawn Michaels vs Bret Hart Iron Man Match for the WWF Championship
The two very best in the WWF at the time, and maybe the greatest rivalry in sports entertainment history locked horns in this 60-minute Iron Man match for the Canadians gold. HBK was seen as the underdog and also the feel-good story as he was coming back from a serious head injury, and this was supposed to be the culmination of his boyhood dream.
The men had instant chemistry with one another and never let an hour-long match get boring. In fact, it went into overtime as Shawn Michaels refused to give up as he was locked in the Sharpshooter for the final 46 seconds of regulation.
The match would go into overtime where Michaels would use two Super Kicks to put away Bret Hart and send him into exile for 7 months to follow. The epic rematch we all wanted took nearly two years to happen and never quite gave us the payoff of a rematch we all wanted. Still, nothing can take awake from how great this one was!
