MEDINA, Ohio – The Bee’s finished off the sweep of the Bucks today at Buckeye High School in Medina. The Medina Bee’s took the second half of the double dip with a 7-2 victory. Alex Whittaker had a tremendous bounce back performance and after a shaky first inning, had it on cruise control setting down the Bucks. Collin Winters led off the game with a walk, and then came around to score on Peterson single. History would promptly repeat itself in the third inning as Winters would walk again, and once again come around to score on a fielder’s choice by Peterson. It was a 2-2 tie after three.
They game remained tied heading into the fifth when the Bee’s swarmed out of the hitting hive and buzzed five runs past the Bucks. The rally was once again started by Collin Winters who led off with a double. He would come around to score on an error. A bases loaded walk to Pipoly brought in another run. They would score five before it was over to finish the scoring at 7-2.
The win improved the Bee’s record to 13 – 6 as they battle for the conference lead with Strongsville and Solon. They have tomorrow off before getting back to it on Monday night at home against Brunswick. They then travel to Brunswick the following night to complete the two game set.
