Week 8 Fantasy Football: Start or Sit?

I’ll be posting my Fanduel lineup each week and then picking some lower ranked players I love and some big names I hate to avoid the obvious ones. Any other fantasy questions feel free to comment or tweet at my own twitter @burasek10

My Lineup:

QB Matt Ryan ATL $8,500
The third highest scoring QB gets a nationally televised game in his home stadium against the Packers. Green Bay has struggled on the year to score and Matt Ryan and Julio Jones is the best one two punch in the NFL right now.

RB Spencer Ware KC $7,400
Jamaal Charles is out so Ware will get the carries again this week with another favorable matchup playing Indianapolis. Ware has gotten at least 125 yards and a touchdown in his last two games and will look for three straight.

RB Devontae Booker DEN $5,600
CJ Anderson is out so Booker will get the carries for Denver. The passing game for them is still in flux so a workload to the RBs is never out of the question as they try and protect their young QBs.

WR Julio Jones ATL $9,200
Do I even need to say anything for you to start Julio Jones? He’s the best player in football right now.

WR Mike Evans TB $7,900
Evans is averaging about 90 yards and a touchdown per game this season. The Raiders have to travel across the coast and allow the most fantasy points through the air this season. Evans is the next must start behind Jones.

WR Larry Fitzgerald ARI $7,000
He’s got at least five catches in every game this season and Fitzgerald has always been mister consistency. Floyd and Brown are both dealing with hamstring problems and are questionable leaving Fitzgerald to be the number one against some Panthers corners that have been downright dreadful.

TE Jack Doyle IND $4,900
I like the productivity for the price with Doyle. He has a touchdown each of the last two weeks and a got a season high ten targets last week. I’m riding the hot hand as Luck is building chemistry with his Fleener replacement.

K Chandler Catanzaro ARI $4,500
The Cardinals offense has a chance to get going with Carolina’s defense struggling. Catanzaro has been a reliable kicker when he has had the chance to kick field goals with the exception of that late game blunder on Sunday. I think he will get the most chances of all the cheap kickers out there this week.

DEF Broncos $5,000
With the Vikings playing on Monday the Broncos become the must start team on Sunday. They rank in the top five in defenses and have an injured San Diego team traveling to town. The Broncos corners are the stars of the defense which they need to stop Rivers and company.

Loves:

QB Derek Carr OAK $7,800
Carr can put up over 20 points per game when he isn’t facing a tough defense. The Bucs are better this year after being one of the worst defenses last year but they still have holes in the secondary. Their combo of Crabtree and Cooper are tough to matchup with and the Bucs might score some points forcing Carr to match.

QB Jameis Winston TB $7,400
I really like this game from a fantasy standpoint. Winston gets the worst fantasy scoring pass defense coming off a three TD performance last week. Doug Martin is still out so the passing threat might be more in play with Jacquizz still the lead back.

RB Christine Michael SEA $7,800
The Saints have a hard time stopping anybody and their offense is better on the home than on the road. Seattle might want to play it smart and try and control the time of possession and keep it out of Drew Brees hands as much as possible. With Wilson still hurt feeding Michael should be option one.

RB Legarrette Blount NE $6,600
He runs the ball a lot and scores a ton of fantasy points. Buffalo is the sixth worst fantasy team against the run and New England’s offense has enough to go around for everyone. Look for Blount to have another solid week after going for a season high 25.9 last week.

WR Brandon Marshall NYJ $7,400
The Browns defense is hurting with all the injuries to their secondary. Eric Decker is done for the season so Brandon Marshall is the guy for Ryan Fitzpatrick. Marshall knows how to find the endzone and although he has only been their twice this season, he might double that this week.

WR Michael Crabtree OAK $7,100
He’s got five touchdowns in the last four weeks for Oakland so if you are looking for the score he might be the one to lean towards in Oakland especially with the cheaper price tag.

TE Jimmy Graham SEA $6,700
You would have to think Jimmy Graham would love to return back to New Orleans and leave with a big game. He has at least 50 yards the last four games despite the Seahawks struggles on offense. At New Orleans might be the perfect start.

Hates:

QB Philip Rivers SD $7,300
Going to Denver in the altitude against the best pass defense and Hunter Henry is questionable with a concussion and Travis Benjamin is questionable with a knee. Poor Philip Rivers can’t seem to catch a break these days.

QB Dak Prescott DAL $7,100
The Eagles defense has scored in double digit fantasy points in all but one game this year. Their defense completely shut down an undefeated Minnesota team last week. While Dak doesn’t look like a rookie we shall see how he fares against a top notch defense. I’m guessing he will finally look vulnerable.
RB Melvin Gordon SD $7,200
The Broncos held Gordon to his lowest scoring game earlier this season when he only scored 9.4 points and had zero touchdowns. It’s hard to like him when the Broncos defense is that good.

RB Isaiah Crowell CLE $5,900
He’s been held to under five fantasy points in two of his last three games. The Browns offensive line is extremely banged up and the Jets have the second best run defense in the NFL.

WR Brandin Cooks NO $7,200
Cooks has been hit or miss and the Saints are having multiple guys coming into the mix with Michael Thomas and Colby Fleener starting to settle into their roles as the season goes along. Cooks is a burner but the Seahawks secondary is good and preventing big plays and mistakes, something Cooks capitalizes on for his big games.

WR Terrelle Pryor CLE $6,900
McCown goes back in at QB and he tends to work the ball around the field more to whoever is open than a younger QB that might lock onto Pryor. Pryor also has to go against Darelle Revis. While Revis has had a down year, he is more technically sound than Pryor and can bait him into some bad plays.
