Upper Arlington’s Dane Goodwin Named 2018 Mr. Ohio; Solon’s Sincere Carry And Revere’s Pete Nance Both Finalists For Honor

Upper Arlington’s Dane Goodwin is your 2018 Mr. Ohio after the results were announced Wednesday evening. Goodwin had an excellent senior season, averaging twenty-four points and ten rebounds on the campaign. He also is the school’s record-holder in all-time points scored and total rebounds. Goodwin started all four years for Upper Arlington and the squad went 87-15, claiming three conference titles and two district championships.

Amongst the other finalists for the award were Solon guard Sincere Carry and Revere forward Pete Nance. Those two joined Jerome Hunter (Pickerington North), Cameron Brooks-Harris (Zanesville), Darius Bazley (Cincinnati Princeton), Justin Ahrens (Versailles), Kollin Van Horn (Proctorville Fairland), Michael Bothwell (Willoughby Cornerstone Christian), and Vincent Williams (Toledo St. John’s).

Carry had a strong senior year for Solon and helped lead them to a record of 26-1 and the honors of being the top-ranked team in Ohio. Carry averaged 23.2 points per game and has had a strong tournament run for the Comets. Carry will continue to pursue his athletic career on the court and West Liberty University.

Nance averaged 21 points per contest for Revere and was a dominant force in the paint for the Minutemen all season long. Revere ultimately fell to St. Vincent-St. Mary in the Regional Semi-Finals to end a historic season that saw the Minutemen win their first District Championship in school history. Nance will now go on to Northwestern University to continue his athletic career.

Congratulations to all of the Mr. Ohio finalists and Dane Goodwin, 2018’s Mr. Ohio.
