The emotions were high tonight in Las Vegas as Ronda Rousey returned to the cage for the first time in over a year. As well as, emotionally low as long time favorite Mike Goldberg hung up the headset for the final time.
Let’s get right to it and break down the action from tonight’s main card!
Fight – (C) Amanda Nunes vs Ronda Rousey
Result – Nunes by TKO in 48 seconds.
Recap – The career of Rousey ended tonight in less then a minute as she never landed a shot. Nunes picked her apart and Rousey was knocked out standing on her feet. I repeat, Rousey is done.
Fight – (C) Dominck Cruz vs Cody Garbrandt
Result – Cody Garbrandt wins by Unanimous Decision.
Recap – Cody Garbrandt proved he is for real with a 5 round dissection of Cruz. Dillashaw to receive the first title shot at Cody.
Fight – TJ Dillashaw vs John Linekar
Result – TJ defeats Linekar by Unanimous Decision.
Recap – TJ is on a roll and it doesn’t look like anyone can stop him. He is determined to regain the gold.
Fight – Dong Hyun Kim vs Tarec Saffiedine
Result – A boring and slow fight saw Kim win the split decision.
Recap – Not much to report, neither fighter did much of anything to help their stock.
Fight – Louis Smoka vs Ray Borg
Result – Borg wins by Unanimous Decision.
Recap – Borg looked great, scoring heavily in all three rounds.
Fight – Johny Hendricks vs Neil Magny
Result – Magny by Decision.
Recap – Hendricks was robbed as he dominated all 3 rounds. For him to lose 29-28 across the board makes no sense.
