Three Takeaways From Bellator 192

Aaron Pico Defeats Shane Krutchen by KO in 37 seconds.  Looking very impressive doing it!

MMA Sensation Aaron Pico continued his rise to the top tonight with a brutal 37 second knockout of Shane Kruchten with one of the nastiest body punches you will ever see!

Pico has had nothing but hype for four plus years since Bellator MMA announced he would be fighting for them when his Olympic obligations were done.  After a dud of a first fight, a 24 second loss to journeyman Zach Freeman, he has been all business with two straight first round victories of his own.  Time will tell what is next for Pico.

Michael Chandler is back!

After a stunning loss to Brent Primus back in June cost him his Bellator Lightweight Championship, Chandler was back and better then ever tonight with a dominant decision win over Goiti Yamauchi.  Chandler controlled every aspect of the fight, the striking, the grappling, all of it.  Scott Coker is on record saying that Chandler will now get his rematch for the gold against Primus in the coming months.

Does Rampage Jackson even care anymore, or is fighting simply for a paycheck?

In what seems to be the blueprint of any big Bellator card, the undercard was incredible and then leads to a hokey, fake feeling main event that under achieves.  This was once again the case tonight as the second to last match was a classic that saw Rory MacDonald defeat Douglas Lima for the Bellator Welterweight Championship.  Sadly, the main event was the clunkfest we all felt it would be.

Rampage Jackson came in 45 pounds overweight and looked horrible.  He looked lazy, dis-interested and as though he didn’t want to be there.  Chael Sonnen has no business being in the Heavyweight Tournament but did enough tonight with the takedowns to advance.  It is clear Rampage has nothing left and will be calling it a day soon.  It got so bad towards the end, that Jackson even turned his back and clowned around, it wasn’t enough and his legendary career appears done.
