The Indians are Quietly Becoming the ‘Road Warriors’ of Baseball

The Indians have been playing well as of late at Progressive Field, but not many fans are talking about just how good the team is playing on the road, something that is for sure worth noting.

The stats of how good the Indians are playing on the road might come into play even more as right now as it stands the Indians will start the postseason on the road (as we wrote about the other day) in Houston against the AL West Champion Astros.

The Tribe has been fantastic on the road, as Ryan Milowicki of the baseball info department for the Indians has pointed out in a tweet after the teams’ win over the Reds on Tuesday night.

How good have the Indians been since July 1st on the road?

How about a mark of 14 wins and 4 losses, with now six straight series wins away from Progressive Field.

They are doing it both at the plate as well as on the mound, as the team is averaging an excellent 6.5 runs per game on the road, and their pitchers have posted an ERA of 2.81.

That will get you far in the postseason based on those numbers.

Here’s a rundown of the Indians road games since July 1st:

7/1 at Oakland 15-3 WIN
7/2 at Kansas City 9-3 WIN
7/3 at Kansas City 6-4 WIN
7/4 at Kansas City 3-2 WIN
