The Gameday Tavern Ohio State Buckeye Bite

The Ohio State Buckeyes will travel to Happy Valley to take on the Penn State Nittany Lions. This will be a battle between the fourth ranked team in the country and the ninth ranked team in the country. Over the years, Ohio State and Penn State have developed a rather intense rivalry. Though it may not be the biggest rivalry in college football. The rivalry is intense and bitter. After back-to-back years of these two teams breaking each others hearts and playoff hopes. Both teams will look to boost their resumes.

Here are three keys for Ohio State:

1. Dwayne Haskins: Dwayne Haskins showed he is not afraid of the national spotlight. Ohio State just played Texas Christian University two weeks ago. This time around, it will be a different spotlight. This will be under the lights at one of the toughest venue’s in all of college football. The Penn State crowd will have a “white out” on Saturday. All Penn State fans will wear white and be one of the loudest stadiums in the country. For Haskins and his teammates, this is their biggest test of season. Haskins has shown he is one of the most accurate quarterbacks Ohio State has seen. As long as he sticks to the game plan, he should be able to handle the situation.

2. Ohio State Defense: Ohio State will be without DE Nick Bosa on Saturday. The time is now for players like Chase Young, Robert Landers, Jonathon Cooper to step up. Lets also mention Dre’Mont Jones who had a pick six against TCU.

3. Skills players: Urban Meyer can rely on the arm of Haskins, but will need more. It will have to be the running game and playing making ability from the wide receivers as well. Penn State struggles against the run. Expect Ohio State use a lot of Mike Weber and J.K. Dobbins.

Ohio State travels to Penn State. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. on ABC.
