Strongsville Skates Past Solon 3-2 in HS Hockey to Move to 3-2-0

The Strongsville Mustangs solid weekend of high school hockey continued, as following a win over North Olmsted on Saturday, they skated Sunday to a 3-2 road win over the Solon Comets.

The victory pushes the Mustangs to 3-2-0 on the season, as they’ve won their last two games. The Comets drop to 1-5-0 with they loss.

The Mustangs got a solid day in net from Nick Harris, who turned away 21 of 23 shots in the victory.

On the offensive side it was Nate Rajecki finding the back of the net twice for the Mustangs. Jake Schuette added a pair of assists to pace Strongsville.

Logan Schramm was also a force on the Mustags offense, as he scored a goal and added an assist in the win.

The Comets offense was led by Christo Wu, who scored both of the goal in the one-goal loss for Solon. Michael Rapposelli assisted on one of the Wu goals.

Devon Apanasewicz played the entire game in net for the Comets, stopping 22 of 25 Mustangs shots on net.

The Mustangs won’t play another GCHSHL affair till 2019, as they will skate against Kenston on January 5th at 6:30pm at the OBM Arena.

Solon will be back on the ice on Friday against vs Benedictine at 7:20pm at Gilmour.
