In the second quarter of this match up between the Wildcats and the Eagles, Bobinski broke away with a 55 yard Touchdown run with 2:18 left in the half. Before the half was over the Wildcats got the ball back with 47 seconds left in the half. St. Ignatius Wildcats Head Coach, Chuck Kyle, comments on playing in the atmosphere of an NFL stadium.

“This was an amazing field, the field was like turf and it was just gorgeous. The team had a little excitement in the beginning, I think everyone was hyped up , maybe even a little too much but settled down and got into the game, that’s what kids do.”

St. Ignatius Wildcats starting quarterback, Patrick Ryan, comments on how he controlled his nerves with playing in First Energy Stadium.

“I’ve been dreaming of playing in this game since I was 8 years old, so there were nerves. Our first couple of plays we ran the ball and from there it settles everyone down. Once we complete that first pass I feel great about myself. I eventually settled down but it did take a little while.”

St. Edward Eagles Head Coach, Tom Lombardo , comments on what allowed St. Ignatius to slow down his offense.

“They are pretty good , we knew their front 6 was really tough, tough to run on. We just never got anything going in terms of finding a bread and butter play that could give us some mid range runs of 4-5 yards. We took some shots up top that we didn’t complete, we completed one early, didn’t convert on the 4 down and inches. That could have gave us some momentum. We didn’t convert on 3rd downs and they did. It got away after we gave them to many possessions. We know what we have to work on and we’ll do it.”

Player of the Game:
Mark Bobinski
18 attempts for 150 yards, 2 touchdowns

2 receptions for 36 yards
