NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio – Is it an accident that the WWE is producing an Eric Bischoff DVD only a few weeks before the brand split? I don’t think so, I think it is a precursor to him coming back to run Monday Night Raw and here is why.
1 – The DVD timing is too timely for me, they have had years to produce this as Bischoff hasn’t done anything in wrestling in 5 plus years. The DVD is coming out now because they want you to remember him and miss him right now!
2 – He was the original GM of Raw, and had a long and very successful run. 3 plus years, covering Wrestlemanias 19, 20 and 21. A boom period for the WWE and during the hey day of the original brand split.
3- If it is a total reboot, Stephanie already announced she will be the Smackdown GM, why not have Bischoff running RAW? It would be like 2002 all over again.
4 – He is Eric Bischoff for God sake, next to McMahon, he is one of the smartest promoters and minds in Pro Wrestling history.
5 – Controversy creates cash, but it also creates ratings. Raw has been suffering, he may be the man to save it.
6 – The brand split is supposed to have the established talent on RAW and the young talent on Smackdown. Bischoff has proven he can work with the million dollar athletes, the established stars and not so much with young talent. This would be the perfect fit for him.
Only time will tell, but right now, Bischoff is the front runner in the clubhouse!
