REPORT: Rodney Hood won’t be punished for refusing to play in Game 4

CLEVELAND– Rodney Hood will reportedly not face a fine or suspension after refusing to enter Game 4 against the Toronto Raptors.

The report comes from Tom Withers of the Associated Press. According to Withers, Hood “expressed regret” following the incident  “didn’t want to be a distraction.”

The Athletic first reported that Hood refused to enter Game 4 for LeBron James in the fourth quarter with 7:38 remaining. Head coach Tyronn Lue subbed in Jose Calderon instead. Hood hadn’t played until that point, as Cedi Osman took his spot in the rotation. Hood has struggled in the playoffs so far, averaging just 4.6 points and shooting 39.6 percent from the field.
