REPORT: J.R. Smith cited with reckless driving

BAY VILLAGE, OHIO– Cavaliers shooting guard J.R. Smith was cited with reckless driving earlier this month, according to a report from cleveland.com.

According to the report, Westlake police notified Bay Village police that a Dodge Challenger was speeding through a construction zone on Interstate 90 just after 1 a.m. on Oct. 12. The car was still speeding on Lake Road in Bay Village.

A family member came and drove Smith’s car back home after he was pulled over. The speed he was driving was not listed, but Smith is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.

On Friday, Smith pleaded not guilty through his attorney to a charge of “willful or wanton disregard of safety.”
