Report: Cavs, Knicks Discussing Trade Involving Irving, Anthony and Phoenix Suns

According to Jordan Schultz of Yahoo Sports, the Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Knicks are discussing a trade centered around Kyrie Irving and Carmelo Anthony, with a third team, possibly the Phoenix Suns involved.

The Cavs are reportedly meeting with free agent point guard Derrick Rose this weekend.

In review: Schultz’s report suggests Cleveland is trying to work a deal to acquire Carmelo Anthony, possibly Eric Bledsoe and/or Tyson Chandler and T.J. Warren. The Cavs could also receive a future first round pick from the Knicks.

New York would land Irving.

Phoenix would land rookie point guard, No. 8 overall pick Frank Ntilikina, Channing Frye (for his expiring contract) and other draft picks.

UPDATE: ESPN’s Ian Begley also reports the Knicks are willing to trade Anthony and future first round picks for Irving, but would not include Kristaps Porzingis.
