PREVIEW: Cavs seek redemption against Warriors Monday night

3. Overall Effort

If the Cavs aren’t ready to get up for this game, I’m not sure what is left to say at this point.

Yes it’s only January, but this is a game against the only team that has had the Cavs’ number over the last three seasons. Every time the Cavs see the Warriors, it’s a chance to prepare and fine tune for another potential Finals matchup.

The fact of the matter is, they need to give maximum effort, or things could get ugly fast.

“We’ve gotta get up,” Lue said on Sunday after practice. “If not, it will be embarrassing, so the guys are ready to play, and we know we’re playing the defending champs. They’re a tough team, they’re a good team, and we’re ready to play and we’ll be up to the challenge.”
