PRESS RELEASE – BLUE JACKETS SIGN CAMERON GAUNCE TO TWO-YEAR, TWO-WAY NHL/AHL DEAL

CLEVELAND – The AHL’s Cleveland Monsters, proudly powered by Constellation, announced Saturday that the team’s NHL affiliate, the Columbus Blue Jackets, signed defenseman Cameron Gaunce to a two-year, two-way NHL/AHL contract.

A 6’1”, 185 lb. left-handed native of Sudbury, ON, Gaunce, 27, posted 1-3-4 with 13 penalty minutes and a +1 rating in 12 appearances for the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins last season and additionally logged 2-11-13 with 38 penalty minutes and a +15 rating in 49 appearances in 2016-17 for the AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. In 32 career NHL appearances for the Colorado Avalanche, Dallas Stars and Pittsburgh spanning parts of the 2010-11, 2013-14 and 2016-17 seasons, Gaunce supplied 2-3-5 with 36 penalty minutes and a -1 rating.
