Today Coach Hue Jackson announced Brock Osweiler as the starting QB for week 2 of the preseason. The game will take place Monday night against the New York Giants at First Energy Stadium. Osweiler will look to get into a rhythm early as he’s had another week of practice with the starting unit. The starting Offensive Line will be down 2 starters as Joe Thomas (rest) and Joel Bitonio (knee) will sit. Thomas will play preseason week 3.
Deshone Kizer has been splitting reps with the first team offense and will play second on Monday night. Hue Jackson has indicated that he wants to see Kizer in the 1st half. Adding that the quarterback that starts week 3 of the preseason is most likely to face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers week 1.
The Giants Defense will give the Browns interesting looks with multiple fronts and personnel combinations. A nice test for the future commander of Cleveland’s offense.
