Monsters Have Forgettable Night In Grand Rapids, Lose 5-0

The Cleveland Monsters had a very rough night Saturday, as they fell to the Grand Rapids Griffins by a final score of 5-0.

The game started with a Martin Frk goal at the 9:33 mark of the frame. That was the lone goal of the frame, as the Griffins headed into the break leading 1-0.

Grand Rapids had a trio of goals in the second stanza, as Eric Tangradi, Evegny Svechnikov and Matthew Ford all found the back of the net. Alex Broadhurst had an opportunity to get Cleveland on the board with a penalty shot at the 19:15 mark, but he failed to net the attempt. With a four-goal lead, Grand Rapids was cruising heading into the final twenty minutes.

The Griffins would tally one more goal thanks to Dylan Sadowy on the Monsters to make it a 5-0 win for the boys up North.

Cleveland now stands at 18-16-1-3 on the season.
