Medley Asks the Masses: How does Cleveland Feel about Detroit, Browns, and Monsters?

In this week’s edition of Medley Asks the Masses, we covered just about every base in Cleveland.

Of course the Cavs playoff run is on everyone’s mind. The Browns made a blockbuster trade. The Tribe is off to a solid start. And the Lake Erie Monsters are thinking championship.

One interesting factor of this weekend was that the Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers are both playing in Detroit.

So we had to settle it once and for all; who does Cleveland hate more? The Tigers? or Pistons?

It shows how hard it is to choose between the two teams who both have storied rivalries with Cleveland. Personally, my hatred for the Tigers runs a bit deeper. They have been owning us for years.

We would be remiss not to get the pulse of Browns fans on how they feel about the trade with the Philadelphia Eagles and surprisingly, the Dawg Pound is on board with the new front office on this one.

It really won’t matter unless they make wise selections with the picks, but as far as the number of chances they have to screw up, they’ve definitely given themselves better odds of making at least one good pick.

On the baseball side of things, the Tribe’s Big Three of the rotation; Corey Kluber, Carlos Carrasco, and Danny Salazar were all as great as advertised this week. Kluber had a bounce back start after a few shaky outings.

Even Josh Tomlin, the #5 man in the rotation, has been superb in both starts this season.

But what about Cody Anderson? It was a surprise to fans and reporters alike when Anderson was named to the rotation and Trevor Bauer was named to the bullpen. Perhaps Bauer will get another chance to start in the coming weeks?

Here’s what Tribe fans thought about that:

Who knows what Terry Francona is thinking, but I have to wonder how short Anderson’s leash is at this point.

We wrap up this week’s edition of Medley Asks the Masses with a shout out to the Lake Erie Monsters, who just swept the Rockford IceHogs in three games.

I asked some diehard Monsters fans how many games it would take Lake Erie to eliminate Rockford in a best-of-5 series.

The two teams split the eight regular season meetings, with the home team winning every game. But Lake Erie started the series by taking two on the road and swept on Saturday night in Cleveland. Props to the Monsters!

This week we will be having a theme of NFL Draft heavy polls to gauge the Browns fan base’s thoughts on what Cleveland should do and how they feel about the end result after this weekend.
