Lake County Wins Pitching Duel with Bowling Green in 1-0 Victory: Three Takeaways From the Win

EASTLAKE, OHIO – As the sun set in Eastlake on Monday night, the temperatures fell, and the pitchers for both Lake County and Bowling Green took over in what turned into a low scoring affair pulled out by the Captains 1-0.

The only run of the night in front of 1,141 at Classic Park came in the 6th inning when Captains catcher Logan Ice came through with a two-out single to right to bring in Li-Jen Chu with the only run of the game.

It was enough, as three Captain pitchers combined to hold Bowling Green to six hits, striking out 10 batters and escaping with the one-run win.

Here’s three takeaways from Monday’s win to get Lake County to 6-5 on the young season.
