Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Tony Ferguson Fight Cancelled at UFC 209

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Breaking news, one of the headlines of UFC 209 has now once again being cancelled.  The proposed bout between Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov is no longer going to happen as Nurmagomedov was rushed to the hospital earlier in the day.  He had complications due to a weight cut gone wrong and ended up in bad shape.

Ferguson had already weighed in at 154.4 for his 155 LB Lightweight Interim Title bout vs Nurmagodmedov.  The undefeated Russian would never make it to the scale, and the bout was scrapped again.

The pairing was originally booked for The Ultimate Fighter: Team McGregor vs. Team Faber Finale and later UFC on Fox: Teixeira vs. Evans. However, the bout was cancelled both times due to Nurmagomedov being injured.  The constant injuries for Nurmagomedov are the reason most casual MMA fans have not heard of a guy who is 24-0 and considered one of the best pound for pound fighters on the planet.  Once again, Ferguson gets robbed out of marque fight he truly deserved and I believe may have even won.
