Indians Recall RHP Nick Goody from AAA Columbus; Send Down Armstrong

After the Indians were forced to go to the pen early and often on Thursday, today the team made a roster move that will bring up a fresh arm to the pen for the start of tonight’s three-game set against the Detroit Tigers.

The team recalled righty Nick Goody from AAA Columbus, sending down right-handed pitcher Shawn Armstrong.

Goody started the season in Columbus, posting 4.1 scoreless innings over three relief appearance for the Clippers (4.1IP, 2H, 0R, 1BB, 10SO, .133 avg).

He has fanned 10 of the 17 batters he has faced at Triple-A and right-handed hitters are hitless in 8 at bats.

Armstrong opened the season on the Major League roster and posted an ERA of 8.44 in 4 relief appearances (5ER/5.1IP).
