Indians Offense Stalls Again in Game Two of ALDS in 3-1 Loss to Astros; Three Takeaways

1. What Happened to the Offense?

The Indians offense has gone to sleep in the first two games of the series, as they have up a TOTAL of just six runs on six hits, striking out 24 times against the Astros pitching staff.

They got a single run on the solo homer from Lindor in the third, but that was it. They had three hits on Friday, and three hits in this game two loss, putting two more runners on base with walks.

Whatever is not going right this team had better find a way to turn it around if they want to continue this series, as the Astros starters and staff has simply blown away the Indians in games one and two.

The numbers for the top three in the Indians order tell the story of the series thus far – Francisco Lindor 2-for-8 with two runs scored and 2 K’s, Michael Brantley 1-for-7 with one K, and Jose Ramirez 0-for-8 w/ 3 K’s and one RBI.

As stated more than once, if this threesome doesn’t hit, this team does not stand a chance, and so far going 3-for-23 isn’t getting it done.
