Indians 1B Carlos Santana Officially Becomes a U.S. Citizen

It’s a big day for Indians first baseman Carlos Santana, as the Tribe mainstay officially is now a U.S. citizen.

Santana took the “Oath of Allegiance” Friday morning in Downtown Cleveland at the federal court building, making the process official.

Tribe manager Terry Francona had announced a few weeks back that Santana passed the citizenship test, and Friday the 33-year-old native of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic took the oath to officially become a U.S. citizen.

Here’s some video from Indians.com’s Mandy Bell of the ceremony.
