Nordonia topped Westlake in tournament action on Saturday afternoon. Nick Peters paced the Knights with two goals. Alexa Prexta had a goal and an assist with freshman Alex Rendziak stopping 31 shots in his first high school start for the Demons.
Westlake rebounded later in the day to beat Mayfield in a OT shootout at the Nordonia tournament Saturday evening. Jake Peacock had a hat trick and Max Novak had 22 saves including two in the OT shootout to lead the Demons to their second victory of the season.
The Wildcats were backstopped with 28 saves by Michael Fink.
