HS Boys Hoops: McPherson and Hickey Help Holy Name Dominate Padua 97-51

By Don DiFrancesco

Padua Franciscan 11 18 15 7 = 51
Holy Name (home) 25 18 27 27 = 97

Holy Name took advantage of 9 Padua turnovers to jump out to a 25-11 lead after one quarter. The Bruins, on the strength of two 7-2 runs, played the Namers evenly in the second quarter and was within shouting distance at halftime, trailing 43-29.

But the second half belonged completely to Holy Name. You might say they earned their Green Wave nickname, overwhelming Padua by a 54-22 count after the intermission. Final score: Holy Name 97, Padua 51.
