Hear LIVE Tonight the Action as the Lake County Captains Head to West Michigan

Mother Nature had other plans on Wednesday night as the Lake County Captains were rained out after playing a few innings in their final game of a homestand against Bowling Green.

The game will be resumed on June 11th in the 5th inning with the Hot Rods leading the Captains by a score of 2-0.

Here’s the info from last night’s game on the Captains official site:

Wednesday’s game between the Lake County Captains (7-5) and the Bowling Green Hot Rods (6-6) was suspended due to rain in the fifth inning. Rain halted play with Bowling Green on top, 2-0.

The teams will resume play on Sunday, June 11 at 1:30 PM. When the game continues, the Hot Rods will be at the plate with two outs and nobody on base. That game will be nine innings and will be followed by a seven-inning game between Lake County and Bowling Green 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one.

Before the rain interrupted the ballgame, Bowling Green starter J.D. Busfield was perfect against Lake County’s hitters. Busfield set down all 12 men he faced, including a pair of strikeouts. The Hot Rods’ offense supported Busfield with two runs in the first on three doubles. Jesus Sanchez hit a one-out double, followed by back-to-back RBI doubles by Mike Brosseau and Nathaniel Lowe.

The Captains won the first two games against Bowling Green and are riding a four-game winning streak. They will hit the road for seven games, beginning on Thursday. Lake County will face the West Michigan Whitecaps for a four-game series and they will head to Midland, MI afterwards to take on the Great Lakes Loons for three games. Lake County returns home to Classic Park on Thursday, April 27 to face West Michigan again.

The Captains are on the road tonight as they travel for the first of a few on the road against Western Michigan with a fist pitch set for 6:35pm.

Tonight it’s Indians 2016 4th round pick Shane Bieber on the mound for the Captains, he’s 1-1 on the young season with a 2.53 ERA.
