Hailey Dawson To Throw Out First Pitch With 3D-Printed Hand At Indians Game Saturday

The Cleveland Indians will have by far one of their coolest ceremonial first pitches on Saturday. After having the likes of Red Gerard, Baker Mayfield, and Denzel Ward hurl out baseballs earlier this year, Tribe fans will experience a feel-good moment with this one.

Hailey Dawson will be throwing out the first pitch at Progressive Field tomorrow evening. Dawson was born with Poland Syndrome, a disease that affects the development of her right hand. The seven-year-old hasn’t been stopped by the rare condition, however. UNLV made a number of 3D-printed hands for Dawson, giving her the ability to do everyday activities. She now has a goal to throw out a first pitch at every MLB stadium.

Progressive Field is the eighth ballpark that Dawson will perform the ceremonial first pitch at. Saturday’s game against the Houston Astros begins at 7:15, with Hailey’s first pitch at 6:59 pm ET.
