Giovanny Urshela Makes First Rehab Start for AAA Columbus Clippers

On Friday night, Indians third baseman Giovanny Urshela made his first rehab start with the Columbus Clippers as they took on the Durham Bulls.

In his first rehab start, Urshela batted second in the Clippers lineup but did not have too hot of a night. Urshela finished the night 0-3 and left two Clippers on base.

In his first at bat, Urshela reached on an error in the first inning.
In his second at bat of the evening he flew out to left field.
In Gio’s final at bat he grounded out to third base.

To start the top of the 7th inning, Yandy Diaz came on as a defensive replacement for Urshela.

Gio has been on the 10-day disabled list since the start of the season with a right hamstring strain that he suffered during spring training on March 19.
