Game 1 of NBA Finals Delivers Peak Ratings

The threepeat rubber match is still must-see TV.

According to an ESPN press release, Game 1 of the 2017 NBA Finals continued to live up to the hype ratings-wise.

Last night’s broadcast delivered a 12.4 household rating for ABC. According to the release, this was the third highest rated NBA Finals Game 1 ever, only behind the Cavs’ first two meetings with Golden State in 2016 and 2015.

ESPN also reported that Game 1 was their most-streamed NBA Finals game ever.

It’s also worth noting that the Cleveland market had the highest local market rating, where an estimated 33.4 percent of households tuned in, ahead of San Francisco and Columbus.
