FirstEnergy Stadium, home of the Browns, will get $10 million in repairs, upgrades

The Cleveland Browns have a brand new regime for the 2016 NFL season and have high hopes for what could be a magical year. Head coach Hue Jackson, Robert Griffin III as quarterback, and an up and coming defense, could just make this a sleeper team this season.

The city of Cleveland got their Championship this year when the Cleveland Cavaliers went on a truly magnificent run and came back down 3-1 in the finals against the Golden State Warriors. The city is alive and hope and excitement is in the air.

According to Cleveland.com, the Cleveland Browns stadium “FirstEnergy Stadium” will be making $10 million worth of renovations and repairs. The Browns have spent around $120 million on upgrades since 2014, and just want to continue the trend.

Curious on whats coming soon?

City Council on Wednesday night passed legislation permitting city officials to spend the money on general upkeep, including new LED lights on the upper concourse, sprinkler lines, repairing rusty metal decks, upgrading security cameras, repairing ducts, pipes, drains and water pumps, retrofitting elevators and making general repairs to the exterior of the facility.

The money for this project comes from a $24 million capital repair fund according to Cleveland.com. Making this stadium even better will result in a more comfortable environment and hopefully some winning seasons for the Browns.
