NEO Sports Insiders spoke to a handful of players about the 2017 campaign. Here are some of their quotes:

“My thoughts going into the season are to get to the state championship and just do anything I can do to help my team win.” – Devanaire Floyd, RB, Akron East

“We’re looking to improve throughout the season. It’s going to be a total team effort.” – Gary Jackson, Head Coach for John Adams

“I want to help every other player get better. I’m excited about the season. Never nervous.” – Tyreke Smith, DE/TE, Cleveland Heights

“It’s not really about me, it’s about the team. As long as we play together as a family, we’re just trying to create a brotherhood here. As long as we come to practice every day, we’re gonna be alright.” – Micah Hills, WR/CB, Shaker Heights

Tony Bogan is a 2010 graduate of Shaker Heights High School. He covers high school sports in and around the Cleveland area, and has done part-time college basketball play-by-play for Cuyahoga Community College.
