An Early Look (and Guess) on What the Indians Do with Their 2018 Free Agents

Austin Jackson – Free Agent

Jackson was a solid offseason pickup, one that hit .318 in 85 games after overcoming early injury woes. He also again added leadership to the locker room, which was a big plus.

Many felt that Jackson was last seasons Rajai Davis, but in the end Jackson didn’t have the speed factor of Davis, but actually hit better than Rajai.

The Jackson deal was super inexpensive considering what he brought to the team, as they paid him $1.5 million in 2017. It will be tough to bring him back for anything under $2 mil per season.

Early Guess – The Indians allow Jackson to shop his services, and after a solid one year with the Indians, he leaves for greener pastures.
